Are you REVOLVING or EVOLVING?

If you are revolving, then you may be going in circles, repeating the same patterns of behavior and thinking, creating feelings of stagnation or a lack of motivation, leading to feelings of anxiety, stress, worry or depression.

I am not talking about unexpected change of which we have little control but rather, change originating from choice.  Maybe you eat the same food week after week, wear the same colors or hairstyle day after day, think the same thoughts, worry about the same things.  Perhaps you’ve always been more impatient than patient.  If everything is same old- same old, then you are someone who is REVOLVING… like riding on a merry-go-round hoping for a change of scenery.

On the other hand, if you are someone who is EVOLVING, you are one who welcomes change.  It’s been said that death and taxes are inevitable. However, CHANGE is also truly inevitable.  You can’t fully live, learn and grow without the nourishment change provides. Change is an agent of transformation. Like the caterpillar, you evolve. Not only do you grow within and have a better understanding of life, but you also gain the capacity to influence change within others.

A daily practice of mindfulness creates the awareness of the value of change recognizing CHANGE can be opportunistic rather than stressful.

It is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change! -Charles Darwin
